  • Audiovisual Women - 6-month leadership program
    Erich Pommer Institute (2022-2023)

AUDIOVISUAL WOMEN is a new leadership program for female professionals in mid- to senior level management positions that sets out to enhance the women's skillset to enable and empower them to master current industry challenges, develop innovative business models and embrace the opportunities of digitization. Through a variety of elements, the women will increase their competitiveness, build professional networks and gain more business opportunities, thus ensuring a sustainable and successful development of their businesses.

The program addresses female managers working across the value chain in the European audiovisual industry, offering a highly interdisciplinary and unique approach to training and professional development. The program elements focus on topics such as (digital) leader- and entrepreneurship, innovation and change management in a VUCA world as well as communication and self-marketing.

  • Working Together Workshop - Communication & Conflict Management
    Focal (2018)

In filmmaking, most of the power lies in the hands of the director and producer who then rely on other people to execute their vision. This process is standard (all film units are structured in the same way) yet unique (every film is different) and gives rise to a number of crises, frustrations and misunderstandings, which can strain good will almost to the limits. As all film professionals have experienced, problematic relationships damage the creative process and potentially reduce the film’s quality and success. In the workshop participants focus on three areas: Cultural intelligence – Conflict resolution – Collective intelligence and develop tools to master them, enabling them to handle critical relationships in the filmmaking process better. Mentors for 2018 edition were Julia Middleton, George Kohlrieser and Vincent Lenhardt.

  • Production Value, The European Scheduling and Budgeting Workshop
    Focal (2015)

Production Value is the only master class workshop for Junior assistant directors and line producers from all over Europe. Its process is unique and offers also an opportunity to producers and directors to have their film project scheduled and budgeted. It's 7-day residential workshop simulates the pre-preparations for 6 existing film projects, and ultimately delivers professional budgets and shooting schedules.

  • Intimate Scenes - Planning, preparation and collaboration
    Focal (2024)

In this two-day workshop, participants work with the preparation and planning of intimate scenes. They deal with aspects of mental and physical integrity, the safe creative process, intimacy garments, the workflow of the intimacy coordinators and the collaboration of the various departments. Participants gain insights into international guidelines and important documents such as risk assessments and shooting protocols for intimate scenes. Aim is to learn skills to implement a more effective workflow that serves the director's artistic vision and enables the actors to do their best.
